Meet Your Host

Treena Evans · Spin Me a Yarn

Owner and creative community builder

Crafting has long been Treena's comfort, social connection and link to home. Although she has tried just about every craft imaginable, knitting has always been her mainstay. Over the years she has created countless hand-knits for babies, children, family and friends, building a lifetime of memories through handmade pieces.

The idea of opening her own yarn shop began more than 30 years ago. After moving to Etobicoke and discovering there was no local yarn store near home, Treena brought that dream forward and created Spin Me a Yarn: a place where people can shop for yarn, patterns, hooks and needles, but also stay awhile, enjoy a cuppa, learn new skills and share their projects.

Spin Me a Yarn expanded that community spirit into travel with its first crafting cruise in 2019. Treena looks forward to celebrating the shop's 10th anniversary at sea with fellow knitters, crocheters and Lambert, the shop's much-loved store mascot.
