Meet Your Featured Instructor

Tara Sinclair of Uh Oh Creations

Award-winning Canadian quilter, instructor and designer

Tara C Sinclair is the designer and creative force behind UhOh Creations, where she turns her love of sewing into modern, functional bag patterns created for the home sewist. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Tara is known throughout the bag-making community for her detailed designs, approachable teaching style and enthusiasm for helping makers discover just how much they can create with their sewing machines.

What began with a beginner quilting class quickly evolved into a passion for bag making, pattern design and what Tara affectionately calls “Bagineering”: understanding the materials, techniques, structure and details that transform fabric into a beautiful, professional-looking bag. Today, she teaches classes, retreats and presentations across Canada, sharing practical techniques for working with zippers, hardware, interfacings, stabilizers and specialty materials while encouraging sewists to make each project their own.

For this special voyage through the Great Bear Rainforest and Alaska, Tara will bring her love of bags, travel and creative sewing together in an project you'll love making on this journey.

“One of my favourite things about teaching is watching someone realize, ‘I can actually make this!’ Add beautiful scenery, a sewing machine and a room full of creative people, and this is going to be an incredible adventure.”
